Newcastle Lord Mayor Geoff O’Brien carried out the unveiling. The unveiling was also attended by the Hardy family whose sons Alex and Will have both played for the club from being young. There was also a commemorative plaque presented to mark the occasion.

The club plays a big part in the lives of local people and definitely brings the community together. People go there to socialise, play cricket and enjoy themselves and the new entrance will improve all this as previously you would have to walk up two flights of back entrance stairs to get in which was hardly ideal.

This beautiful cricket ground has been at the heart of the community since 1887. All generations enjoy the friendly welcome. Its recently had a £140K refurbishment so why not call down and try out the Pavilion Bar or book it for an event. The venue can hold up to 120 people and is ideal for parties, christening’s, training events etc. Check out the website for more details on news and events.
